Shari Hall is a Sunshine Coast local artist from Buderim. Her new single “Hope” is now available in most places online. We discuss where this song came from.
Shari Hall –
“Hope” is the title track and first single from my upcoming fourth studio album. When there are people trying to bring you down, judge or criticise you, or trying to crush your dreams, continue to believe, Hope, pray, and ask, with faith and thanks, in His name – all you ask for, you’ll receive!
Where were you when this song came about? What were you up to?
“Hope” came to me in the midst of all that is going on in the world. We are constantly struggles with good and evil, yes and no, right and wrong, can and don’t, possible and impossible! While there may be a world filled with naysayers, there is always one source that will love and support you, and raise you up!
What is your favourite line or lyric & why?
“But they don’t know that what’s unseen lies just ahead – your’re free to be!”
We may not always know or understand the path we are on or what we are called to do, and there will be those who cannot “see” you vision or dreams. All you need to do is stay true to your authentic self, always believe, and never give in to those who don’t support your dreams.
What inspired you to create/write this song?
The inspiration for most of my current music comes from personal life experiences and/or the New Testament word. “Hope” was inspired by the following verses:
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matt 19:26 ESV)
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Heb 11:1 NKJV)
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13 NIV)
What is the intention with this song?
“Hope” is an upbeat, inspirational song meant to fill the listener with the knowledge that anything you desire is possible when you have belief in Yourself and a higher power.
