JUNE are a Sunshine Coast local band from Maroochydore. Their new single “Rising Tide” is now available in most places online. We discuss where this song came from.
In recent reviews we have been noted as ‘Mad Scientists’ with ‘Fuzzy Goodness’. But you’ll have to see for yourself !! We love music and hope to create a fitting atmosphere for years to come. 🙂
Does this song have any musical influences?
Not particularly. The feedback and graininess of the song can be familiarised with ‘Joy Division’, as well as ‘King Gizz’.
What does this song mean to you?
The song throws hints of electric energy, and loss. As a whole I guess it resembles an irritated ocean, surging with hypnotic character.
Where were you when this song came about? What were you up to?
‘Rising Tide’ made its first appearance mid 2019. It was was around the time we really started to understand each others styles in the band.
What is the intention with this song?
The intention can be taken any way you like. We like to keep our songs broad and open for interpretation. The title ‘Rising Tide’ speaks for itself, and hopefully to you.
What is your favourite line or lyric & why?
‘It was they, who claimed your mind’ – A sentence not many would make in day to day conversation.
What inspired you to create/write this song? (and real life situations)
Rising Tide was created in a flexible sense, with the environment and emotional contact in mind.
