DUB ZOO –
This track is the first song on DUB ZOO’s second album. It’s about letting go of things you can’t control, living in the moment and connecting with those around you.
Where were you when this song came about? What were you up to?
We walked onto stage at the Solstice Roots gig at Crystal Waters. No set list, no rehearsal, no plan. Just 5 musicians on stage with a bunch of instruments and an audience.
What inspired you to create/write this song?
The inspiration comes purely from the moment at which the song was both performed and recorded for the first and last time.
Does this song have any musical influences?
We’re influenced by the music we listen to individually which is very varied, from jazz and classical, folk and country, neo-soul and funk, afro-beat, reggae and of course dub!
What is the intention with this song?
The intention is to inspire a feeling in the listener of rising above the constant turmoil of the past and anxiety of the future and to just be here now.
All of the songs on DUB ZOO’s first two albums has released so far is purely improvised.
